It’s only a threat

I hate bullies! I can’t stand to see someone who seemingly has the upper hand take an unfair advantage of someone else.  They make threats and cause havoc all because they think they can.  I’ve noticed that, most of the time, a bully is all talk.  They will make you think they are going to do something to you but it turns out they were just trying to scare you into believing they are more important than they really were.

If anyone can give us insight into the adverse effects of giving in to a bully’s threats it would be Elijah.  In 1 Kings 19 you’ll discover a man who has just been used by God to utterly destroy over 400 prophets of Baal.  He was an ordinary man who did extraordinary things.  But after this great victory he was suddenly caught in the grips of a paralyzing fear because of threats on his life by Jezebel.  Always remember that the enemy won’t bother with anyone who is not doing something great for God.

Have you ever felt life’s subtle and not so subtle threats?  You’re just coasting along and life suddenly sucker punches you so hard that you can’t seem to catch your breath.   Maybe it’s a devastating diagnosis or receiving the news that your marriage is ending.  It could be the report that says your child is failing in school.  Whatever it is, I’m telling you it’s just a threat.

Elijah ran for his life after hearing what the queen threatened to do to him. God had a plan for his life but he chose to believe the words of someone who had no real power. Sound familiar? Our enemy gets in our ear and tells us we won’t recover from the illness or get the promotion or lose the weight.  We have to make up our minds to believe God’s word and not the enemy.  Worry and doubt won’t change a thing but Faith will.

When you are feeling the pressure of life’s threats just remember that Jesus came that we might have life and to have it more abundantly (John 10:10).  If the diagnosis comes back negatively, believe God to be a healer.  If your marriage is falling apart, believe God to be a restorer and a sustainer. And, if your child is failing in school, hire a tutor :) Have Life!

I hope this encourages you today.  If you know someone who could benefit from reading it, please share it with them.  If you’d like this entire teaching for your library, visit for more information. Having Life,

He’s aiming for your heart!

Your heart is the basis of everything when it comes to God.

Whatever comes out of you is based on what is in your heart. That’s why Psalm 119:11 tells us Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. You may not realize it, but your heart produces your behavior just like a tree produces fruit. So, if you say you are a believer, there should be some evidence of that in your life and God is holding you accountable for it. It will never be about how much of the Bible you know, but rather how much of the Bible you can live. You have to access the word hidden in your heart.

Will you miss the mark? Of course, we all do from time to time. Will you make mistakes? Without a doubt, we all have and will continue to do so. However, when you don’t want to make the same mistakes, you have to aim for a change, and real change means a change in your heart.

Change that ignores your heart will never transform your life. Change not rooted in your heart will not last. Most decisions made in the mind and not in the heart are also temporary. Matthew 5:8 says Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. The pure in heart will acknowledge Him, recognize Him, and see their purpose along with God-given ideas and strategies. Everything revolves around your heart.

I’m sure you agree we must be heart healthy to live and thrive naturally. Well, we must also have healthy hearts to live and thrive spiritually. Now is the time to examine why you do what you do, because God is coming after The Heart of the Matter.

If it’s in your frame, it’s in your future…

What a blessed assurance to know that God has reserved a priceless inheritance for you! I’m sure you have heard many times that we are Abraham’s seed, therefore we are heirs according to the promises of God. 1Peter 1:4 says we have been given exceeding great and precious promises. You have heard teaching, sung songs and read books about them all. In your prayer time you have even reminded God about His promises. Although we understand what God has reserved for us, we often misunderstand His timing.

God is not affected by time. HE lives in eternity, WE live in time.

Do you realize everything God decreed in eternity will come to pass in time because it’s already done? Time is the agent for purpose and for every purpose under heaven there is a season.

Time is the only thing that separates the decree of God from the manifestation of that decree. You see, God frames your purpose within the borders we know as time.

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God… (Hebrews 11:3)

When the scripture mentions “worlds” in Hebrews 11:3, the reference is not to planets. It means eons, ages, or seasons. You have to remind yourself you are a purpose under heaven, which means there is a time for you. When you have a greater understanding of God’s timing, you will not become anxious or discouraged.

Picture a stone tossed in the water. The ripples go on and on. When God releases a Word it goes on and on until it completes what it’s supposed to accomplish in your life. You are a word spoken out of the mouth of God. The same word that called you into existence is the same word that will keep you going. He’s already spoken it and it shall come to pass. Your future is locked up in your time and every bit of it is in His hands.

Q: So how do I make it through time? A: Find good ministry that will teach you how to have it, hold it, and not lose it, till it’s time to use it!

I will tell you, it’s not easy being in a good church where the Word will nourish you, convict you and confront you all at the same time. Real good ministry is not always “seeker friendly.” It will challenge you to change. You may find you need to make some corrections in your family, your character, even your credit. Without question when the Word does reach you, it is getting you ready for what God is going to do in your life and He knows exactly when you’re ready!

Everything God has for you has been perfectly pre-arranged and framed in the borders of time, so If It’s In Your Frame, It’s In Your Future. I pray that this email will create a hunger in you that will cause you to pull your chair up to the table and be fed over and over again.

Today, I urge you to bring Him your whole heart, be kind, be honest, do unto others as you would have them do unto you and trust the timing of God. There is nothing that He will withhold from those who walk uprightly before Him. I am so grateful and tremendously blessed by the faithfulness of your partnership with this ministry. Thank you for helping extend the gospel across the world.
